언젠가 친구가 rock festival에 참석하기 위해 일본까지 다녀오면서 해줬던 이야기가 마음 속에 깊이 남았다. 도쿄돔에서 했던 공연이었는데 coldplay, viva la vida 가 시작하는 부분의 울림이 온 몸으로 전해졌다고 했다. 멋진 곡들을 들으면 저절로 반응하는 몸이 닭살을 뛰어넘어 온 전율이 몸으로 퍼지는 것을 경험한 친구녀석이 부럽기도 했다.
Coldplay도 멋지지만 음향시설이 아주 잘 되어있는 도쿄돔에서 그들의 곡을 들은 것은 분명 행운이었기 때문이다. 작년에 유행 했던 곡으로 포스팅 하기에는 조금 늦은 감이 없지않아 있지만 오늘 갑자기 Pet shop boys christmas 앨범을 듣다가 쌩뚱 맞은 리믹스 버젼에 그 이야기가 생각나게 하여 나의 발걸음을 가볍게 했다.

원곡이 워낙에 좋아서 다른 리믹스 버젼은 귀에 들어오지도 않았던 것 같다. 그리고 나도 원래 리믹스 버젼을 별로 좋아하는 타입이 아니라 원곡을 보존하여 듣고 싶은 그런 마음이 있는데 처음으로 이 생각을 깨게 했던 가수가 David Choi 이다.
나름 그의 스타일대로 잘 불렀다고 생각한다. 짜식 귀엽다. 누구도 알려주지 않는 기타로 혼자 연주를 시작하며 자기가 좋아하는 곡들을 cover형식으로 부르며 온라인에서 활동하는 한국말을 못하는 한국아이이다.

그리고 아까 위에서 살짝 언급했던 Pet shop boys의 remix version도 올려본다. 이 버젼은 좀 신나는 버젼이다. 그들은 공연할 때 폴짝 폴짝 뛰면서 이 곡을 부르곤 한다. 무엇보다 도미노 댄싱곡과 잘 어우러지게 리믹스 한 것 같다. The Pet shop boys did this coldplay cover as medley with their own hit Domino dancing live at their Pandemonium Tour in 2009.

'Bodies in urban spaces' Performance.

“Bodies in urban spaces” is a temporarily intervention in diversified urban
architectonical environment. The intention of “bodies in urban spaces” is to
point out the urban functional structure and to uncover the restricted movement
possibilities and behavior as well as rules and limitations.
By placing the bodies in selected spots the interventions provoke a thinking process and produce irritation. Passers by, residents and audience are motivated and prompted to reflect their urban surrounding and there own movement behaviour and habits. “Bodies in urban spaces” invites the residents to walk their own city thus establishing a stronger relationship to their neighbourhood, district and town. The interventions are temporarily without leaving any traces behind, but imprints in the eye-witnesses` memory.

“Bodies in urban spaces” is a moving trail, choreographed for a group of
dancers. The performers lead the audience through selected parts of public and
semi-public spaces. A chain of physical interventions set up very quickly and
only existing temporarily, allows the viewer to perceive the same space or place
in a new and different way - on the run.
The special quality of each place
at various times of the day creates unique presentations.
